- “Verily! You (O Muhammad SAW) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided.” Qur’an 28:56
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu!
Alhamdulillah, during our dawah mission from Al-Furqan Foundation in Philippines Allah has blessed us with a striking experience proving the above ayah.
We were sitting in our Mosque one of the morning when three children, who were playing outside, entered the mosque and came toward us. They were fascinated to see us as we were foreigners to them and started conversing with us in English. We hugged them and gave them candy, a gesture which amused them very much! Soon we started talking about Islam and we told them this is how Muslims behave with each other, with much love and kindness. At one point we asked them about their belief. Two of them replied they were Catholic Christians and one said Iglesias Nichristo. To that we replied that we were Catholic Muslims and they looked at us in amusement! Then we explained that Catholic means broadminded or liberal so we were liberal Muslims! So they became more interested to know about Islam and we spoke for several hours.
Finally one of them asked “I want to become a Muslim, how can I?” and the other two children also followed with the same question. We explained to them that they have to declare Shahadah and to our delight we held their hands as they declared Shahadah one by one.
From that day onwards whenever they heard the azan they would run towards the Mosque and join us in praying Salat. When their families heard of this they banned them from coming to the Mosque but they rebelled and said “We are Muslims now and we must go and pray Salat!”
These children were only five to six years of age and Alhamdulillah Allah had enlightened their hearts with true faith and iman despite their families’ efforts to stop them, as Allah guides those whom He wills!
